ACTING I
Spring 2022
This was the only theatre class in which I did not take at Loyola. During my freshmen year, I took an intro acting class at Montana State University. This class reminded me of my love of theatre and that I made the right choice to transfer to Chicago and pursue theatre.

Inspired by Anna Deavere Smith's play Notes From the Field, the final project for this class was to perform a monologue I wrote. Following similar steps as Smith did, I conducted an interview and asked the interviewee a story about a time that was significantly impactful for them. For my monologue, I interviewed my mom and she told the story about her trying to get back for her grandpa's funeral and completing graduate school. After conducting the interview, I transcribed it and reformatted it to a 5-7 minute monologue which I presented to the class. The recording of my performance was lost; however, below I have the monologue that I wrote.
